They are simply convenient notations. In fact, in binary, 10 is two.
1/4 of 2 is 2/4 or 1/2. Or thing of 1/2 of two as one and half of that is 1/2.
2 1/2 - 1 1/2 = 1
Half of two and one half: one and one fourth2+1=2+1=4+1=5. 2 1 2 2 2 25/2=5*1=5= 1+1= 1 and a fourth2 2 2 4 41 1/4
two and one half times one fifth = 1/22 1/2 = 5/22 1/2 * 1/5 = 5/2 * 1/5 = 1/2
1 1/2 (one and half)+ 1 1/2 (one and half) + 2 1/2 (two and half) = 5 1/2 . That is five and one half.
The answer is two. 1+1= 2
a) Everyone knows what one and two are, so they will know 1 + 1 = 2 b) Assuming they do not know what one and two are, it will be impossible to explain to them 1 + 1 = 2, because these definitions are ESSENTIAL to prove 1 + 1 = 2.
"one-half" is 1/2 "of" is * (multiplication) "two-thirds" is 2/3 1/2*2/3=2/6=1/3
Expressed as a fraction in its lowest terms, 2 1/2 - 1/3 = 2 1/6, or two and one sixth.
1/2 x 2/3 = 1/3. One half of two of anything is one of it.
one and two thirds = 1 +2/3 = 5/3 one and one half = 1 + 1/2 = 3/2 one and two thirds compared to one and one half = 5/3 - 3/2 = 1/6
2 9 1 plus 1 is 2.
