A square root is the number that is squared to obtain a square number so it can therefore be considered a root of that square number (or basis for that square number).

It can also be noted that each square number, when displayed using dots will always form a perfect square perhaps giving it it's name

twenty three has no square root but it will be in between 4 squared and 5 squared but more towards the 5. also there is + and - square roots such as the two square roots of 9 are +3 and -3. - times - = + and + times + = +.

The two square roots of 4 are 2 and -2. Both {2,-2} when squared, equal positive 4.

With square roots if you have a number times itself or squared then that that product is that numbers square root example: 9x9= 81 81 square root is 9

Since a squared plus b squared equals c squared, that is the same as c equals the square root of a squared plus b squared. This can be taken into squaring and square roots to infinity and still equal c, as long as there is the same number of squaring and square roots in the problem. Since this question asks for a and b squared three times, and also three square roots of a and b both, they equal c. Basically, they cancel each other out.

The square roots of perfect squares are the numbers that when squared create perfect squares as for example 36 is a perfect square and its square root is 6 which when squared is 36

If a is any number, then a squared = (-a) squared, so one might say that a and -a are both square roots of a squared. However, the square root symbol always means the positive square root.

A number is squared by multiplying it by itself, for example 8 is the square of 64 (8 x 8 = 64). Square roots are found by figuring out which number, when squared, will give the number in question, for example the square root of 64 is 8 (64 / 8 = 8).
