It's a lot easier to make circular lenses. And circular lenses are easily housed in tubes. But if you so wish you are free to specify square tubes, and pay the extra. The largest telescopes aren't cylinders or tubes, they are just loads of scaffolding.

Researchers use all of these: -- optical telescopes -- radio telescopes -- x-ray telescopes -- infra-red telescopes -- ultraviolet telescopes

Most telescopes are telescopes?

refracting

Are optical telescopes much bigger then radio telescopes?

No they are not bigger then radio telescopes at all.

How radio telescopes differ from optical telescopes.?

Radio telescopes collect radio waves. Optical telescopes capture visible light waves.

What are the major types of optical telescopes?

Ground-based telescopes, and space telescopes. Or: refracting telescopes (main collector is a lens), and reflecting telescopes (main collector is a mirror). Or: Home telescopes (small ones), and professional ones (larger and more expensive).

Where are telescopes generally found?

At a store for telescopes!

Are space telescopes manned or unmanned satellites?

All space telescopes are unmanned - unless you want to count the small telescopes on the Shuttle or IIS as space telescopes.

What have telescopes found out?

telescopes have found out that im AWESOME

How are refraction telescopes and reflecting telescopes similar?

they the same

How are reflecting and refracting telescopes different?

Reflecting telescopes use mirrors to collect and focus light, while refracting telescopes use lenses. Reflecting telescopes typically have a closed tube design which protects the mirrors from dust and other contaminants, while refracting telescopes are more prone to chromatic aberration. Reflecting telescopes are generally easier to manufacture at larger sizes compared to refracting telescopes.

Do digital telescopes exist?

No, digital telescopes don't exist. The telescope which we know are optical telescopes and what NASA uses are radiation based telescopes, or something related to radioactivity. As far I know, I've never heard about digital telescopes.

What are reflecting and refracting telescopes designed for?

Light is found by reflecting telescopes and refracting telescopes are used to dected sound
