If they have varying heights and widths and lengths.
For example:
You have a cube and a rectangular prism.
The cube has sides that are all 6 cm. long. That cube has a volume of 216 cm Squared.
The rectangle has the dimensions 3 by 12 by 6. This rectangular prism has a volume of 216 cm squared, just like the cube, and even though they weren't the same figure, they has the same volume.
