What are the differences between mathematics and computer programming?
Mathematics can be used in coding (computer programming). I have done programming before and it is nothing like mathematics. Although coding languages can be used to solve mathematical equations, the makeup of it is not just math. It is based on math but is not completely reliant on it. For example, <DOCTYPE html> That is HTML coding *what makes up websites*. The amount of math used depends on the coding language. In application programming, there is more math used like: myFloat = 1.23 switchOn = True myFloat * jumpForce = myHeight That used more math in it. It depends on the language of coding. Why is it that some people who are not good at mathematics are good at programming in terms of writing code?
High-level programming languages separate the programmer from the machine to such a degree that it is not necessary to understand how binary computers work in order to program them, thus the need to be good at mathematics is greatly reduced. This makes it possible to write good code with just an elementary understanding of mathematics. However, writing efficient code is another matter altogether. Being able to bash out quick and dirty solutions does not a good programmer make.

Because you are writing code that tells the computer what to do. The conception that mathematics is useful to programming is a debunked myth because I know a lot of people in my computer science program before I switched to something else who are terrible with math but are very good at essay writing and programming. In summary, the reader(which in this case is a computer) has to understand the code you write to it.
