Either your remote wire from you head unit to your amp is broken or not connected properly, you don't have a remote wire, or your head unit is faulty.
Try another piece of cable as your remote wire from your head unit, and if it still does not work, your head unit is faulty.
To save buying a new HU, you could wire the remote wire to your accessories, but be cautious as you could flatten your battery quickly if wiring incorrectly.
