Kind of an odd question, but I'll give it a go.
A good example is a box with sides 2 and 2.
2 x 2 = 4 squares
22 = 4 squares
now try 2 and 4
2 x 4 = 8 squares
area is just a numerical representation of how many squares of a unit of measure there are in a shape. Some shapes are a bit more complex to figure area for, like circles, but the idea is the same.
It works because length and width are the dimensions of a shape, so multiplying them together gives you the area of that shape in whatever units you are using.
to find area you multiply length times width to find volume you multiply length times width times heights
Area.
The area of a rectangle is found by multiplying the length times the width.
for area you times width x length
area
to find area you multiply length times width to find volume you multiply length times width times heights
Area.
you multiply length times width and if its a triangle you multiply length times width and divide by two or cut in half (:
multiply length times height times width
To get the area, you multiply the length times the width.
The area of a rectangle is found by multiplying the length times the width.
Multiply the length times the width.
Multiply the width times the length.
Length times width times height
for area you times width x length
Multiply length times width.
You multiply length times width
