When our body gets too hot, we sweat to cool ourselves down.

We stop sweating once our temperature is back to normal, because if we kept sweating, we would get too cold.

Sweating also loses water and salts from our bodies, and so a we want to keep as much water and salts in our bodies as possible, which is why the body doesn't sweat for too long.
