Why does the 1992 Grand Am lose power after it reaches 40 miles per hour?

Both times that this has happened on my 2001 Buick Regal AND 2001 Grand Am it has been a clogged Catalytic Converter. Both times it was covered by a blanket 120,000 mile warranty regardless of whether or not you are the original owner. Take the car to a reputable GM dealer for this.
