Why don't people like to learn math?

There is a long history dating to the late 19th century of school kids not liking school, especially math. When schools were first developed in the 1800s, teachers taught the kids the three basic R's, reading, writing, and arithmetic. Arithmetic (or math) was one of the least liked subjects students learned. Many modern day scientist have traced this dislike of math to prehistoric ages, where cavemen would draw pictures instead of count. Many modern day programs, such as Sesame Street have tried to make kids thing that math is fun, but in reality it drives kids to hate math more. Even most math teachers in high schools hate math, they are only math teachers to coach Basketball, and earn money.

Maybe the people don't know what uses maths has. It is hard to imagine what uses algebra could possibly have. But if you go to college and do anything but humanities or arts, you will be fascinated at how maths can be used.
