Inclined planes are everywhere and are very useful.

As a child, did you ever play on a slide or a see-saw? Both are inclined planes.

Have you ever lived in a house? The roof of most houses are inclined planes.

Entrance and exit ramps for highways and the highway itself are more examples of inclined planes. (If you ever have a chance, look at a roadway. Most roadways are not flat but are pitched so that water does not pool when it rains.)
