Math is for the most part cut and dried, tables, figures, statistics, with little opportunity( at least in the lower rankings) for anything original or creative- contrast English. Also some math concepts seem to fly in the face of reality- the notion ( theorum it is probably called) in Algebra- that a negative number multiplied by a negative number equals a positive number- so -200 X2 = Positive 400 does not make sense in the real world- and suggests ( two wrongs make a right) which is not so.
It means that you are sad and down in the dumps. 1. sad about something. Example: "I was depressed when I found out that my son got a F on his Math Test."
Can't escape - a vain attempt is a depressing song. All of a vain attempts songs are depressing. All songs by Evanescence are depressing also.

No job does not use math! Math is one of those things that is everywhere. Kind of depressing. *sigh* On the bright side, some jobs use less math than others! :) Although I think of writing as a job without math :)

To some people it may seem depressing, because the trees are starting to die, the weather is getting colder, etc. Winter is the more depressing season out of all of them though.
There is no formal word with a negative prefix for depressing. The informal term non-depressing is rarely seen, to indicate something that would ordinarily be expected to be depressing, but is not, e.g. a funeral.
