Have you heater core replaced.
Assuming that you aren't over-heating, check the fuel pump. My 1999 Taurus used to stall/ refuse to start when it was hot due to a faulty pump.
It won't cause over heating.....but it can go bad and send a signal that the engine is over heating when it is not.
i usually will not do a tranny flush with over 100000 miles on a vehicle. if over that many miles, have a transmission specialist inspect your vehicle.
SAE 5w30 any major brand. Use High Mileage oil if you have over 100,000 miles on the odometer.
