# Why should you estimate before you find the sum or difference of larger number?

Maths Teachers ask students to estimte the sums of large numbers before they actually solve the solution because students that do this regularly will eventually become very accurate and will soon be able to guess the entire problem correctly without any working out. Estimating is a very good learning technique and is very effiecient!
