The first thing I would try would be cleaning the throttle body with some carb and choke cleaner. When they get really dirty it can cause you to stall at slow speeds. On my 93 there is a Crank Shaft Position sensor. Mine started to melt and the Jeep stalled at weired times for a week. If your jeep has a lock up solenoid in your tranny and its stuck on, then you will stall at stops Not sure about a 94, but my 2000 would stall while driving at highway speeds. Dealer replaced the oxygen sensor and it fixed the problem.
Why would it stall or almost stall in Reverse but not in Drive? How long since it's received a tune-up and thorough check-up? How is the compression?
Your Dodge Durango may stall when idling at a stop light for a couple of reason. One reason may be that a part needs to be replaced on the car.
My 94 escort was doing the same thing. I replaced the throttle valve assembly and that seems to have done the trick. Hopefully that helps you out.
The most common reason for a car to stall is a lack of fuel. The gas tank could be empty or the fuel injectors. Need to be cleaned.
A leak in the brake booster is one common reason why a car would stall or hesitate when the brakes are pushed. There could also be an obstruction in the brake line.
If it stalls for no reason then no one can give you an answer
IF your 94 Probe GT has a new clutch, but when you are on a hill the car will not go, it could be the fuel line. This is especially true if it does not stall and does not rev up either.
hi! i had the same problem on my '94 SE and it was caused by the distributor.
Take a look at the intake manifold gasket could have a leak. This problem could cause your 94 to stall when slowing down or coming to a stop. This may not be the problem but not uncommon for these cars at high millage.
One reason why a Mitsubishi Star Wagon will stall when accelerating is bad spark plugs. Another reason is a bad oxygen sensor or the throttle position sensor.
