The distributive property connects two different operations - for example, addition and multiplication. In this case:a(b+c) = ab + ac

Here is an example with numbers:

7(10+2) = 7x10 + 7x2

The Distributive property relies on TWO operations e.g. + and x. If there is only one operation, then the Distributive property can not be applied.

No. The multiplication is distributive over addition (or subtraction) but the distributive property does not apply to multiplication, of itself.
