The height of a triangle is the length of the line drawn perpendicular (at right angles to) to the base from the angle opposite the base.

Heron's Formula uses the side lengths of the triangle to find the area. The three side lengths are labelled a, b, and c. This formula also includes the semi-perimeter, s, which is half the perimeter.

s = (a + b + c)/2

A = sqrt [s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)]

The easy way is to multiply half the length of the base by the height. (Not the length of one of the other sides, the height of the apex above the base.)
