3 - 4x = 10x +10

3 - 3 - 4x = 10x + 10 - 3

-4x = 10x + 7

Now subtract 10x from both sides.

-4x - 10x = 10x - 10x + 7

-14x = 7

Now that we have like terms on both sides, all you need to do is divide both sides by -14 to solve for x.

-14x / -14 = 7 / -14

x = -1 / 2
