How do you type 6 to power of three?

A "power" means the number of times you multiply the base number by itself.

In your question "6 to the power of 3" means 6 x 6 x 6
6 multiplies by itself 3 times.

You can type 6*6*6 into your calculator... but what if you were asked to find:

5 to the power of 20.

that's 5 x 5 x 5 x 5..... 20 times. I wouldn't want to type that into my calculator, and I'm sure you wouldn't either!

Thankfully, there's an easier way.

5 x 5 x 5..... x5, 20 times can be written as 5^20

Similarly, We can write 6 x 6 x 6 as 6^3. We read 6^3 as "six, raised to the power of three" or "six cubed" or "six raised to the third power".

6 is our base number, and 3 is our power.

So, you can type 6^3 into your calculator to find out what 6 to the power of 3 is.
You should find the ^ key on your calculator, ask your teacher or parents if you can't find it. The ^ is called a "caret", it sounds the same as "carrot".
