I got a slightly different answer.

Here is how I solved:

We have a distance of 250ft, and a speed of 60 mph.

What you want to do is convert mph to fps(feet per second)

There are 5280ft in a mile, multiply that by 60, and you have: 316,800 ft.

There are 60^2 seconds in an hour(60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour) so you have 60^2, or 3600 seconds.

Those are very large numbers, though, so we need to simplify them:

We have 316,800 ft per 3600 seconds, per is your keyword to divide.

361,800 / 3600 = 100.5 ft per second.

We have our simplified speed, now we just use our formula for time:

t = d/s, or time = 250 / 100.5

When we solve it, we get:

t = 2.5 seconds as our answer.
