Different cities have different size blocks. There is no requirement for a city block to be a certain size. I picked two city blocks at random in New York City and they measured differently. One was 800 X 200 feet and the other was 900 X 220 feet. There is no set pattern.

do the math. in new york city 20 blocks make up a mile, really they planned it. there are 1780 yards in a mile so 1780 divided by 20 =89 89 yards per block x 2=178 yards in every 2 blocks.
12 blocks is a mile
Eight Topeka, Kansas city blocks equal a mile.
It depends on the size of the city blocks. A typical city block is around 200-300 feet long, so in a city with blocks of 200 ft each, there would be approximately 10 city blocks in 2000 ft.

It depends entirely on WHICH cities blocks !
