The complement of an angle greater than 90 degrees is not an obtuse angle! It would be a negative angle, whose measure would be 90 minus the angle whose complement you require.

This would only make sense if the direction in which the angles were measured were fixed. For example bearings, which are always measured in the clockwise direction.
