A Prime number is a number that is divisible only by 1 and itself; it has no other factors. A composite number is a number that is divisible by more than 2 numbers. The factors of 14 are 1, 2, 7, and 14. Therefore, 14 is a composite number.

14 is a composite number. A prime number has only 2 factors which are 1 and itself. Composite numbers are everything else except 1, 2, and 0. 1, 2, and 0 have a different name.

All even numbers (except 2) are composite, because they are divisible by 2.

Is 14 a prime or composite number and why?

14 is a composite number. Any number that's not a prime number is a composite number. A prime number is a number that has no factors except ' 1 ' and itself. The factors of 14 are 1, 2, 7, and 14. In addition to ' 1 ' and itself, 14 has two more factors. Therefore, by definition, 14 is not a prime number, and is a composite number.
