The 3 "main" functions of triglycerides are;

1. Provide energy - they are the main fuel source of all body cells

2. Insulate the body and protect our organs - the main layer of fat under our skin is made up of triglycerides and fat containing triglycerides can also be found around our organs providing them with protection

3. Aid in fat soluble vitamin absorption - fats found in foods can carry fat soluble vitamins such vitamins A, D, E & K.
