Best Answer

2 and 4 are grades (chemistry) according to ASTM A487

N and Q likely stand for normalized and quench/temper, but not 100%.

Gate valve manufacturer in India?

Specialityvalve is one of the biggest producer and supplier of Gate valve Manufacturer in India. Gate Valve is a control valve that either allows the fluid flow or stops it depending upon our use. It is a most common valve for water valve systems. It is a linear motion valve that starts or stops the flow. It got its name from the element sliding into the flow stream to provide shutoff, hence acting like a gate. Thus it is used either in the fully closed or fully open positions. Gate valves require very little space along the pipe axis and hardly restrict the flow of fluid. When the gate is fully opened it enables the gate valve to offer straightway flow with very little pressure drop. Gate Valves are also called as Sluice Gate Valve. Automated Gate Valve also exists which are either electric or pneumatic actuator, but as manual gate valve are cost effective hence it is affordable and as gate valves are used lesser. Gate valves should not be used for regulation or throttling of flow because accurate control is not possible. Components of Gate Valve ● Body ● Bonnet ● Body Seat ● Stem Nut ● Yoke Nut ● Stem ● Handwheel ● Gasket Working of Gate Valve The main three components of Gate Valve are: body, bonnet and stem When the handwheel is rotated which rotates the stem and due to it there is vertical movement of the gate via threads. They are considered multi-turn valve as it requires more than 360 degree to fully open the gate. When the gate is lifted from the flow path, it is open and when it returns it is closed and hence the flow is stopped. Types Knife Gate Valve Wedge Gate Valve Parallel Slide Gate Valve Slab Gate Valves Pressure Seal Gate Valve Flat Gate Valve Below Seal Gate Valve Forged Gate Valve Advantages • Have low friction • They provide laminar flow • They help to reduce energy and low cost of ownership • There is small flow resistance • Structure length is relatively short Industries ● Oil and Gas ● Automotive ● Marine ● Chemical ● Petrochemical Description Available materials: SS304, SS904, SS904L, SS316, Aluminium Bronze, Monel, Bronze, Brass, Duplex steel, Inconel, Titanium, WCB, CF8, CF8M, CF3, CF3M, WC1, WC6, WC9, Cast iron, SPUER DUPLEX Size: 1/2″- 64” Class: 150 to 2500 Nominal Pressure: PN10 to PN450 Operations: Hand Wheel operated Gate valve, Gear operated Gate valve, Electric actuated Gate valve and Pneumatic Actuated Gate valve Ends: Flanged(FF,RF,RTJ), Buttweld, Socket weld, Threaded Standards: API607, DIN, BS, ANSI, AWWA, ASME, API6D With an experienced technical team, Specialityvalve provides best Gate Valve Manufacturer in India.

Which ASTM standard is equivalent to BS EN 10264-2?

The ASTM equivalent for BS EN 10264-2 is AST A342. These designations are set for steel wires and wire products

What is 489 minus 2?

489 - 2 = 487

What is point 487 expressed as a fraction in its most simple from?

0.487 = 487/1000. Since neither 2 nor 5 are factors of 487, this can't be simplified.

Is 487 even?

An even number can be divided by 2 evenly. An odd number will have a remainder of 1 when divided by 2. 487 is an odd number.

How to Install a Gate Air Valve?

Unlike traditional check valves, gate valves have very low flow resistance, thanks to the straight-through design of the wetted area. Stainless steel is also corrosion-resistant, and will not leach into the medium it passes through. It can be used in areas where corrosive fluids are present, and it can be used in drinking water. Despite its low resistance to fluids, the valve is relatively easy to maintain. Before installation, clean the sealing surface and cavity of the gate valve, and tighten the packing. The valve seat is attached to the body of the valve by a screw and can be either rising or falling. When fully opened, a gate valve exposes the stem of the gate. A sealing gland in the body compresses the packing and creates a tight seal. A rising stem gate valve is suitable for above-ground installation. The valve is not recommended for use with corrosive liquids. It is advisable to install a gate valve with a high-flow capacity. The stem of a gate valve is attached to the body of the valve. The rising stem is connected directly to the gate. This is a visual indication of the valve's position. The nonrising stem is threaded into the body and has a pointer at the top. It is best suited for applications that have little vertical space and do not want to scrape. If a rising stem is necessary, it should be installed with the valve's body. A gate valve has two parts. The body is the largest. The valve's spindle is attached to the body. The body contains two springs which act as hinges. The spring is an internal component that provides a tight seal. A spherical valve is more efficient than a lever valve. A pressure-sensitive model is a type of ball valve. This design also provides higher pressure than the other type. The bonnet is made from steel. A gate valve has two types of bonnets: a non-rising stem and a rising stem. The rising stem is used in high pressure service. In a non-rising stem, the stem is stationary. The non-rising stem has a single disc. During a closed valve, the disc and the stem move up and apart. The media is then allowed to pass through. The fully open gate valve provides minimal resistance and little pressure drop. A gate valve has two types of seats: the rising and the falling stem. The rising stem is fixed to the gate and rises and falls together with the valve. The rising stem is fixed to the gate, while the sinking one is mounted between two seats. The rising and the falling stem are fixed together. The roses and falling stems are connected to each other by a threaded rod, which is threaded into the valve. The wedged gate is the most common type. It has two inclined seats. When the gate is closed, it will not stick to the seat. A wedge-shaped valve can be used for high-pressure applications. However, it is not recommended for use in corrosive fluids. Its flexibility allows it to withstand high-pressure conditions, such as high-temperature environments. The flexible wedge is a good choice for corrosive fluids. AVK Singapore Pte Limited Address: 40 Gambas Crescent Nordcom 2 757018 Singapore Telephone : +6562141048 Working Hours - 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM

How do you dismantle a gate valve?

Several days ago, I exactly read something about the question in DSMATERIALA's website. Now we share with it. The valve is used to regulate flow control such as to control the flow levels of gas, liquids and steam. It is necessary to dismantle a valve when you are either replacing a gate valve or repairing it. The procedures are list in following descriptions: 1, Turn off the main medium supply before dismantling the gate valve. 2.Take the screwdriver and remove the nut and the hand wheel from the top of the gate valve. 3.Unscrew the packing nut from the stem and remove the gland spring along with the packing gland from the top portion of the bonnet. 4.Remove all the nuts, lock washers and cap screws that are visible on the valve body and bonnet. 5.Take the bonnet, the gasket and the disc riser off of the stem. Unbolt the stem from the bonnet to complete the process.

How do you write 487 in scientific notation?

4.9x10^2 or 4.87x10^2 Depending if you want to round or not.
