To have an "entire approximation" in itself is an oxymoron. We have to approximate pi because you cannot express the true value of pi as a decimal. It goes on forever. This is an invalid question. Pi is generally approximated, however, as 22/7 or 3.14.

What decimal is pi?

There is no finite-length decimal number for pi. The decimal for pi goes on until infinity! The most commonly used approximation is 3.14

Approximation for pi?

3.142 rounded to 3 decimal places

What is the name of 3.1415926535?

That's an approximation of "pi", truncated after ten decimal places.

What is 3.14159265853 itself?

It looks like the decimal value of Pi - however, some of the digits are wrong... 3.14159265358979

The circumference of circle P is 62.8 inches, and the diameter is 20 inches. What expression represents an approximation for pi?

Pi by definition is simply the ratio C/D = pi where C = 62.8 in and D = 20 in. Plug in the numbers and you can get a value out as far in decimal points as you wish. And that's pi, not an approximation of pi.

What is the number version of pi?

An approximation of pi is 3.14159568. It is a non-repeating decimal, and many powerful computers have calculated trillions of decimal places, so the known number is too large for this space.

What is 22 over 7 times pi?

You can only express this exactly by leaving it as is: 22/7 times pi. If you want a decimal approximation, use an approximation of pi, for example. 3.1416, and do the calculation on a calculator.

Is pii equaled to 3.14?

Not exactly. To 2 decimal places, pi is 3.14 To 7 decimal places, pi is 3.1415927 To 9 decimal places, pi is 3.141592654 pi does not terminate - it can be expressed to as many decimal places as required. 3.14 is often used as an approximation when doing calculations as it's easier to work with (than 3.141592653... ).

Is 22 over7the same as pi?

No, but it's a relatively close approximation. 22/7 rounded to six decimal places is 3.142857, whereas pi is 3.141593. ---- 22/7 is only correct to 2 decimal places. A better approximation is 355/113 which is correct to 6 decimal places. 355/113 = 3.141592920353... π = 3.141592653589793... If you need to do accurate calculations involving pi you should use the π (pi) key on a calculator.

What is an approximation of pi?

Think of pi as infinity. It never ends. You might mean "3.14" as an approximation of pi, though.

How much does pi equal?

The value of pi is widely accepted as approximately 3.14; however, as is true of all irrational numbers, when pi is expressed as a decimal, it has an infinite number of decimal places. To see pi expressed beyond its standard approximation, then please refer to the Related Link below.

What is the exact area of a circle with a diameter of 25 m?

The exact area is 625*pi. Since pi is an irrational number, any exact answer must include pi and may not contain a decimal (or rational) approximation of pi.
