That IS the equation. You may want to write with the equal sign:
6p = 24
24 x 12 = 288
48
If a statement includes an "equals" sign ( = ) then the statement is an equation. By the way . . . it may or may not be a true statement. "10 equals 120" is not true.
A linear equation.
It is an equation of a straight line.
6p + 11 = 35 Therefore, 6p = 35 - 11 = 24 p = 24/6 p = 4
7p plus 6p equals 13p. You simply combine the like terms by adding the coefficients (7 and 6) together. Therefore, the equation simplifies to 13p.
(p) is the variable...it can stand for anything, but what you are trying to do is solve for it. 6p+5=29 is simply 4. 1) Get the variable on one side - Subtract 5 from each side: 6p=24 2) If applicable, make it so there is only "one" variable - Divide each side by 6: p=4
-9p + 6p = -3p
4p+3 = -6p-5 4p+6p = -5-3 10p = -8 p = -0.8 Substituting the value of p into the original equation gives you: -1/5 = -1/5
If: -17 = 6p-5 Then: p = -2
algebra8p +4 = 10 +6p+8p - 6p = +10 - 42p = 6p = 3
The equation 45p take away 6p equals too 5p plus 4. This is taught in math.
17 + 6p = 9 6p = -8 p = -8/6 p = -4/3
If: 6p-2-3p = 16 Then: p = 6
14 + 6p = 6 + 7p 8 = p
p=1125
