First of all, it is NOT 'pie' . 'Spelled as 'pie' is the apple pie or meat pie that you eat.

The correct spelling is 'pi' , it is the modern spelling for the small case Classical Greek letter 'p' , which represent 'proportion'. The Classical Greek letter 'pi' looks like a rectangle, with no bottom line, and one on the legs is curved outwards.

pi ~ 3.14 , 3.1416, 3.141592. or 22/7 This values are APPROXIMATIONS, because 'pi' is an irrational number, which means the decimal digits go to inifinity and the is no regulr order in the digits. To date 'pi' has been calculated to at least 50 billion places, and still going. The fact that it is named an IRRATIONAL number means that it cannot be converted to a ratio/fraction, with an exact answer!!!!

'pi' is the Constant of Proportion ('p') between a circles circumference and its diameter.

When learning these calcuation in school you are probably given '3.14', this is only for ease of calculation and learning.

Pi is not an equation. It is a number. And it's a non repeating, non terminating decimal. Therefor it goes on forever without ever repeating.
