Median means Middle Number. If a set of numbers is odd you can simply order the numbers from least to greatest and remove the first highest and the first lowest, and so on until you have one number left.
Example: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
Cross out first Highest and First Lowest
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
Continue removing the next highest and lowest.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
And Again
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
Whats the number you have left? 4. This is the median for this set of numbers.
However, this rule changes with even amount of numbers, such as the problem you have.
Follow the same steps you did before. Order the numbers least to greatest. Then begin removing the first highest and first lowest and so on. You'll notice in an even numbered problem you have 2 numbers left over. To find the median simply find the average of the two remaining numbers.
Your answer to your problem:
1.62 + 2.17 = 3.79/2 = 1.895 That is the median of your problem.
217 is not a prime number. 7 and 31 are factors of 217 besides one and itself.
5425/1000 = 1085/200 = 217/40
The numbers are 215, 216, 217 and 218.
The numbers are 215, 216, 217, and 218.
The smallest 5-digit integer perfect square is 10,000 = (100)2The largest 5-digit integer perfect square is 99,856 = (316)2So we want to know how many numbers that is, from 100 to 316 inclusive. It's 316 minus the first 99 = 217 of them.
137 plus 149 plus 162 plus 201 plus 217 plus 289 plus 372 = 1,527
As the three corresponding digits in 162 are lower than those in 379, you can quickly do it by taking each digit from the corresponding one, to give you 217.
There are 162 games in a MLB regular season. Add that to as many as 36 exhibition games and a possible 19 post season games and MLB team could play as many as 217 games in a year.
