The ratio 3 to 4 is equivalent to the fraction 3/4. This means that for every 3 parts of one quantity, there are 4 parts of another quantity. In decimal form, this ratio is 0.75. Ratios are used to compare quantities and can be simplified by dividing both numbers by their greatest common factor.

6:8, 9:12, 12:16 etc....

You should multiply or divide both numbers by the same number.

ex: 3x2=6 and 4x2=8

3x3=9 and 4x3=12

3x4=12 and 4x4=16

But if we have this ratio for example (12:16), we could also use division.

ex: 12÷2=6 and 16÷2=8
