The easiest way to find the intercept is to move y so that it is on one side of the equation. Then, in most cases, it will be in slope-intercept form which tells you the slope and y-intercept. So, we subtract 3y from the right and we subtract x from the left and we get:

3y=-x-4

Now we need to get rid of the 3 so we divide both sides by 3:

y=(-1/3)x-(4/3)

Now we have our answer in slope-intercept form!
