I am assuming you mean inside the engine block... (valve deposits and dirty or clogged injectors are far more common causes of misfires) Generally, you dont unless you know they are the problem. Have you verified your problem is due to dirty heads? It's pretty rare to actually have dirty heads cause things like misfires and such... regardless of what the advertising done by "cleaners' claims. Heads are quite used to having a nice layer of carbon on them, it's part of the combustion process and does not hurt. It is true that if your engine's combustion chamber runs way too hot the carbon can contribute to pre-ignition, but if that's the scenario, removing the carbon does NOT fix the issue. You need to address the high combustion temps first. There is one or two well known chemicals one is BG44? BK44? Available at some chevy dealerships. I have also seen Marvel Mystery Oil used often, or Seafoam. I have seen Seafoam remove heavy valve deposits, but I imagine most cleaners can do as good of a job used properly. (Always remember to change the oil after cleaning out junk or flushing!) Using any of these may resolve your problem, but the real cause may be that they ended up removing valve deposits, clogged injectors, or intake issues that are really causing the problem.
