1996 ONLY IF ITS OUT OF A CIERA. THE 2.2 ENGINE OUT OF 97 J BODY CARS FIT. THE 97-99 ENGINES FIT OUT OF OTHER GM FWD CARS BUT MANIFOLDS, TIMING COVERS, AND OR ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS VARY. SWITCH WHEN DIFFERENT.
I also have an 86 cutlass ceria, the motor will die when I take off from a standstill, let it sit for afew minutes and its ok,any body have any idea`s why?
I believe the engine has to come out and the block has to be opened up because the head gasket is in the center
what does it mean
You may be able to find the part at www.partstrain.com , I just recently purchased the headerpanel, new lights, and side marker for my 1989 olds cutlass ceira. The quality of the parts are great.
I'm not sure My 1993 olds cutlass ceira s does seem to tick constantly as well, kinda from the back side of the motor, could be stuck or bent valve, a worn valve guide, bad lifter, bent push rod, or fuel injector noise all curable with a top end rebuild? a mechanic i know told me to overdose the fuel with injector cleaner and see if that helped but i've used these products regularly the whole life of the car so i doubt him. The worst case senario i've found in my research is a worn #1 main bearing being common to 93's in particular wich sounds like it would take a bottom end rebuild to cure? i'm not sure what the deal is and haven't found a definitive answer but all these are probable for engine ticking from what i've read. let me know if this is all acurate or if you can narrow it down for me Update olds cutlass ceira's of the early 1990's can develop an engine tick due to a crack in an exaust manifold which is not uncommon, will be checking mine we'll se what happens
