∙ 17y agoReverse rotation water pumps turn in the oposite direction of the crankshaft and are typically used with surpentine belts. The back (smooth) side of the belt is routed around the water pump pulley, thereby rotating it in the oposite direction of the crankshaft.
Standard rotation water pumps turn in the same direction as the crankshaft and are typically used with V-Belts.
Turning a water pump in the wrong direction will cause overheating.

The difference between the rotation and revoulution is that rotation is the spiinning of the planet on its axis and revoulution is the orbiting of the planet around the sun.

PD or positive displacement pump has a piston which directly contacts the fluid. In a centrifugal pump the impeller creates a patial vacuum inside the casing due to which suction takes place. Discharge takes place by the rotation of the impeller.
