L48 = 190, L82 = 230, California L48 = 180
The L82 engine has more horse power than the L48. It also has 4 bolt mains, instead of 2 bolt mains, different cam, intake, carb, exhaust manifolds, and a number of other things where different between the two engines over the years. The biggest way to tell the difference is when you fire up a L82 it will sound like a solid lifter motor, where the L48 wont. The L82 is a looser motor which means it can handle higher RPM, the biggest problem with L82's is if they are not maintained with good oil, and service correctly you will blow it up alot easier than a L48. L48 or L82. Both 350 c.i.
there is no such engine for 1978 you either have L48 or L82.
The L82 was an engine option. The L82 had more horsepower and torque than a stock 350 or L48. There were various differences, including many internal parts and the heads.
NONE. 1974 was the last prodution year. you only had the L82 or the L48 both 350's
With the base L48 350ci V8 it puts out 185HP and with the optional L82 350ci V8 it puts out 220HP.
All 1976 Corvettes were 350ci. The engine numbers will tell you if it's a base engine, L48 or L82.
175HP with the base L48 350 V8 California emissions and high altitudes emissions engine, 185HP with the base L48 350 V8 engine, and 220HP with the optional L82 350 V8 engine.
The base engine is the 350ci L48 V8 that puts out 180hp and the optional engine is the 350ci L82 V8 that puts out 210hp.
GM L82 3.1L V6
The 1975 L48 Corvette engine was the "base" engine and never was offered with aluminum heads or a 4-bolt main block from the factory. The L82, offered in 1975 had 4-bolt mains but still only had cast iron heads.
