Hi. The reversing light switch on the mondeo is on the gearbox. if you put the car up on ramps go under the car to the back of the engine on the passenger side there is a 17mm or 19mm nut with 2 wires in it. That's the reversing switch. Just disconnect the cable from the switch and undo the nut it will come out as 1 unit like a bolt. To replace do the same in reverse . DON'T ATTEMP TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITH THE SWITCH OUT IT WILL LOSE GEARBOX FLUID. (NOT GOOD) have a friend to take u to the shop for a new one. Hope this helps
The switch is in the gearbox, on the right hand side as you face the engine from the front. There are other senders/sensors on the gearbox. You can identify the switch by lying underneath and removing the two spade terminals, connect them together, with the ignition switched on,your reversing light should now work. You can then eliminate the fault. it may be that the warning light on the dashboard is faulty. The bad news is that a new switch may not solve the problem. The switch is activated by the reverse selector depressing the contact on the switch. This wears over time and eventually does not activate the switch. On my van the problem was only solved when I had the box rebuilt!! Good luck. Paddy the Courier
remove reversing light switch and pour oil into the hole. Straight from Haynes manual. Level plug is on the side.
How do I get to the reversing light switch on a Toyota avensis 2005
Ah, finding the reversing light switch on a Renault Laguna is like discovering a hidden treasure in the forest. You'll want to look near the gearbox or transmission area, as that's where it's usually tucked away. Take your time exploring, and remember, there are no mistakes, just happy little accidents along the way.
