Would an hourglass work? It certainly is not absolute. Moon phases. Burning candle. Tides. Melt water from a chunk of ice... or the amount of dry ice left. The number of Chips Ahoy cookies left in the package-- or the weight of the potato chip bag...(but you are probably not talking about measuring nanoseconds)... evaporation of water out of a container-- for relatively long periods... The amount of bacterial growth on a plate of milk or other nutrient material left out and unwrapped... The sounds of birds and/or insects... Measured growth of a plant...

How is relative location different from absolute location?
Relative location is a valid concept, whereas absolute location is a term made up by people who choose to ignore the inherently relative nature of coordinate systems. Statements such as "The absolute location of St. Louis Missouri 38°43' North 90°14' West" have been used to illustrate what an absolute location is. However, there are implicit words in this sentence, words which are omitted because it would be superfluous to say it every time when quoting coordinates.
