Hello... first off, there's no such model as MK600GAH... it's MK6006GAH, 60GB, ATA/IDE 50 pin female interface on the drive, 8mm thickness. An MK8007GAH is an 80GB ZIF (zero insertion force) ribbon connector interface, also 8mm thickness. The two above drives are totally incompatible with each other and the devices they connect to due to the interfaces, and there is no way to adapt them. The MK6006GAH can be used in later iPod 3rd gen and later iPod 4th units which will accomodate an 8mm hard drive... the standard for all of the ipods and most MP3's is 5mm. The MK8007GAH is used in later 5th gen iPods and the iPod Classic. The above information was supplied to you by the #1 seller of iPod hard drives on the internet... DATA INFORMATION STORAGE INC : website : http://www.disi123.com Tel 714-964-8202 / Fax 714-964-8223 10605 Lawson River Avenue Fountain Valley CA 92708 aka disi_your_number_one_online_drive_source on ebay.

Information from DATA INFORMATION STORAGE INC (website : http://www.disi123.com) is partly wrong.

The main difference is a storage capacity: 60GB (mk6006gah) vs 80GB (mk8007gah), there are other minor differences. By the way, they do have the same interface: 44-pin Parallel IDE (ATA-5 or 6)(female). vs227 EDIT: The mk6006gah and mk8007gah are, in fact, 100% compatible. The mk8009gah is the 80gb drive with the ZIF connector. Link to Toshiba's mk8007gah user guide below.
