yes they are the same (See Answer)the bulbs 1157 are the same bulb as the 2057 just different wattage (both are 12 volts as the majority if not all cars use a 12V system ;) ).. in my case i used a 1157 led bulbs in my 2057 Chevy beretta tail/turn lights.... to make my led lights to work all i needed was a diff flasher.... figured it out i just need a new flasher (elecetronic flasher)Part number..Bussmann flasher BP/232 replaces flasher 552 then you are able to put leds bulbs in the tail/turn lights..

NO they are not ALL the same! Case in point: Some manufacturers, Pilot from experience, claim their amber repla1157 LED replaces the 2057 amber specifically in a C4 Corvette front turn signal. However the locking tabs on the side of the bulb are at the same height on the Pilot bulb rather than different heights on the bulb so they do not lock into the GM bulb socket. It may flash and work temporarily...until it rattles out of the socket.

1157 has 3cp and 2057 has 2cp

* - I would like a clarification of what 3cp & 2cp mean.....

The 1157 & 2057 bulbs ARE a direct swap, have the same number of contacts and filaments......not counting an aftermarket LED bulb which may have been produced/labeled improperly.

From my information the 2057 has a slightly brighter brake illumination. That is only difference.

cp = candle power, the more candle power the brighter the light and the more heat it gives off, ever see melted lenses from incorrect bulbs?
