The current production car with the highest MPG is the Toyota Prius at 48city/45highway (US gallons).

Among cars no longer in production the Honda CRX HF got 40/48 (EPA adjusted to 2008 testing), the 92-95 Honda Civic VX got 39/49 (EPA adjusted to 2008 testing).
