It depends on how many square feet the box will cover.
I found two different brands: one covered 22.93 sqft, the other 17.59 sqft.
your room is 12' x 14' = 168 sq.ft
so 168 sqft / (22.93 sqft / box) = 7.32 boxes for my first example
and 168 sqft / (17.59 sqft / box) = 9.55 boxes for my 2nd example
Hope this helps
10x12 room
To calculate the number of boxes of 8mm laminate flooring needed for a room measuring 14 feet by 9 feet, first determine the area of the room: 14 ft x 9 ft = 126 square feet. If a box of laminate flooring covers approximately 20 square feet, you would need 126 / 20 = 6.3 boxes. Since you can't purchase a fraction of a box, you would need to round up to 7 boxes to ensure complete coverage.
Two squares.
The square feet of a 14ft x 30ft area is420ft2
Assuming you use the standard 4" depth, you will need at least 1.75 cubic yards.
10x12 room
14ft x 12ft = 168 sq ft = 15.6 m2
Volume = 2,111.15026 ft3
168ft² = 15.61m²
Divide them by 3 because 3 feet = 1 yard
There is a total of about 18.67 sq. yards in the room.
How to convert 12 ft x 14 ft into square feet
You have to multiply the two dimensions to get the area. In this case the answer will be 168 square feet.
14 x 12 = 168.
Area = 1/2*12*14 = 84 square feet
