Your pool is about 2200 gallons.
1/2 a tab each week will do. If it cannot be broken in half, use one tab each week.

How do you know that it is in fact a chlorine stain unless you have been using chlorine tabs and the tabs are tossed, spilled or dropped into the pool. Tabs will burn the surface that it touches and often these stains are not removable.
I use 2 tabs of chlorine the 2" tabs in a floater it works well.
It takes around 8 pool tabs to equal 1 gallon of household bleach. Pool tabs are typically more concentrated than liquid bleach, so you need fewer tabs to achieve the same cleaning effect.
Chlorine tabs are typically used in swimming pools to help maintain safe and clean water. Simply place the chlorine tab in a floating dispenser or chlorinator near the water return in the pool to allow the chlorine to dissolve slowly and distribute evenly. Be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions and test the water regularly to ensure proper chlorine levels.
depends on how deep your well is and how high the water is in it
Car tabs???
wow slow down there!!! adding to much stabelized chlorine over time will add too much cyanuric acid aka stabelizer or (CYA).So this means your pool water is out of balance a lot. red burning eyes, itchy skin are the first signs of improper balance. The only way to reduce cya is to drain out water and replace with new. you can do it yourself or use a pool service, Your check book will answer that for you.You will need a cya test kit although you can buy seperatly or buy with a complete kit which you should have anyway If your CYA is over 100 and approaching 150 then you may have too much CYA in the pool. Granular and tabs used exclusively will cause the CYA to be raised. Alternate monthly between the granular or tabs and 12.5% liq. chlorine. This will increase the time it takes to build the CYA. Or switch over to liq. until the CYA is within acceptable range. You will need to drain the pool pratially to lower the CYA. To do this usually takes a separate submersable pump to which you attach a hose.
because he was tabs
If you are using small or jumbo tabs that may contribute to the problem. You will need to add baking soda to raise the levels into the range in which your kit can detect. Use a digital meter to determine alkalinity the range. Your range should be 80-120 ppm. Or you could be adding too much acid. Get a sample of the water to a pool store soon. k
yes, it is perfectly ok to put tabs in skimmer basket. +++ NO: it is NOT OK - unless the manufacturers of the particular skimmers, pumps and filters on your pool advise it is permissible. Buy either a proper in-line tablet feeder (it goes in the return pipe downstream from the filter) or floating basket-type tablet dispensers. The skimmers are NOT chemical dispensers.
The constant use of small 1" , large 3" jumbo chlorine tabs and granular chlorine. they all have cyanurics acid in the compound mix. Best to switch to liquid for a while ( a month of so). The high levels of cyanurics will eventually drop as water evaporates and you add fill water. High levels of cyanuric acid or conditioner would be considered to be in excess of 100 ppm. You could also do a partial drain of the pool and refill to reduce the CYA faster. In the future you might consider alternating between liquid 12% chlorine and tabs. Note: 1" tabs dissolve faster. HTH granular and tabs I believe do not contain conditioner but then it is a lesser grade of chlorine - see percentage values on label.
