to find the answer, you should make a factor "tree". Draw it as I explain it. 75 "branches" down to 5 & 15 (because 5 x 15=75) 5 will not "branch" any lower (because the only # you can divide it by is 1 or 5) 15 branches down to 5 & 3 at the bottom of your "branches" you will have two 5's and one 3. The factors for 75 are 1, 3, 5 & 75. (#1 and the number in question will always be factors, in addition to the numbers at the bottom of your factor tree) Prime factorization can be written as 3x5x5 or 3x5 squared. Hope that helps.
