You find multiples of a number by multiplying it by successive counting numbers.

The least common multiple, or LCM, is the smallest positive integer that all the members of a given set of numbers will divide into evenly with no remainder.

You find the LCM of two numbers by comparing their prime factorizations.

Example: 30 and 42

Factor them.

2 x 3 x 5 = 30

2 x 3 x 7 = 42

Select the highest amount of each factor.

2 x 3 x 5 x 7 = 210, the LCM
