To round 1.65 to the nearest tenth, we look at the hundredths place, which is 5. Since 5 is equal to or greater than 5, we round up the tenths place. Therefore, 1.65 rounded to the nearest tenth is 1.7.

It is 1.6

Although many schools teach you to round 5 up, always rounding up from 5 is inappropriate because it introduces an upward bias. The IEEE (Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers) standard 754 is to round 5 up or down so that the new last digit is even.
