A real number is really just any written number, except with a fancy name. Technically, any number can be written as a fraction; however integers are generally left in their shortened form.

Some examples of this are:

314/100 (which is 3.14, pi)

2/1 (which is 2)

1/2 (which is 0.5)

1/3 (which is 0.33)

The list is infinite.
