Example: "She ran the 40 meter dash in 4 and 3 tenths of second" is far more common than "She ran a 4 and 3 decisecond 40 meter dash" almost no one uses the term decisecond, (spell check doesn't even recognize it!) "tenth of a second" is favored in almost all applications of use.
But decisecond is technically the correct SI term for 1/10th of a second.
