Assuming you mean 30y^3 and 20y^2,

We ought to factorise to check our answers.

The greatest number that divides into both 30 and 20 is 10.

The greatest y term that divides into both y^3 and y^2 is y^2

So,

10y^2 (3y + 2)

If we multiplied out brackets above, we would be left with 30y^3 + 20y^2

Since (3y +2) cannot be simplified any further,

Ans = 10y^2
