When rounding 78.8 to the nearest whole number, it will be 79. This is because the digit immediately to the right of the decimal point is 8, which is greater than or equal to 5. Therefore, the 8 in the tenths place will cause the 7 in the ones place to increase by 1 to become 8.

If you are rounding to the nearest whole number, it would be 79. If rounding to the nearest tenth, then it would not change.
