Nowhere in The Bible does it say to tithe 10 percent. The word tithe means a tenth, or a tenth part, NOT ten percent. There is a big difference. Example: In Leviticus 27:32 God said the tenth animal is the one to tithe - the LAST ONE out of every ten. If you only had 9 animals, you wouldn't tithe. If you had 19 animals, animal number ten would be the one to tithe.

The Biblical tithe was never money, and never came from anyone's income, and was to be eaten by the tither, his family, the Levites, the priests, the widows, the orphans, and the stranger. See Deut. 14:22-29.
